For true believers, artificial intelligence will inevitably become superhuman. According to their mythos, we’re adrift in a godless cosmos. So it’s up to us to create digital deities. Or rather, it’s up to a few tech geeks to create them. The rest of us can either kneel before their altar or get shoved into the abyss.

This article also appears on my website, The Asylum. The website also has several things that are not possible to do on Substack: The World Economic Forum Members Reference (thanks to Dr. Malone), Red State/Blue State reference showing Senate and House percentages by party affiliation, quotes, a large resources section, a robust search feature and some other things unique to the site: quizzes, word games and leaked communications. These latter three are satirical and funny, at least in my mind, but you'll have to be the ultimate judge on that.

AI is just tech-priest lingo for "computer program we want to pretend is sentient so you stop blaming us for all its flaws".
To use a parallel: if you train me to make the same sounds someone makes when speaking a khoisan language, that does not mean I speak khoisan.
Try that one on any technophile you know, see if they can parse it. Most can't since the machines they work with cannot talk back at them.
Edited because swedish and english spells "parallel" differently for some silly reason: the pronouciation is virturally identical.
