Hapless Hillary on Losing Control

Hillary is worried we're losing control...well, not really we, more like them, you know, the arbiters of truth...our morally upright and superior political class!

So Little Johnny Kerry and Hapless Hillary Clinton are taking orders extremely well. Apparently, it’s time to attack free speech and their handlers have given them cheat sheets to use for the next few months. In an interview Humiliated Hillary (C’mon girl, you couldn’t steal an election from a billionaire television celebrity?) said:

We should be, in my view, repealing something called Section 230, which gave platforms on the internet immunity because they were thought to be just pass-throughs, that they shouldn’t be judged for the content that is posted. But we now know that that was an overly simple view, that if the platforms, whether it’s Facebook or Twitter/X or Instagram or TikTok, if they don’t moderate and monitor the content, we lose total control, and it’s not just the social and psychological effects, it’s real harm.²[emphasis mine]

And there it is: “we lose total control.” This is how important the truth is, how important free speech is. What she means (being careful not to mention free speech or the first amendment specifically…it is election season, remember.) is:

“Dammit! We’re losing control! Our narrative is getting attacked almost faster than we can vomit it up. Our lies are being fact-checked by a basket of deplorables and their damned memes. We will never gain control of this country until we can muzzle MAGA, MAHA and their ilk on social media and Substack.”

The “social and psychological effects” and “real harm” are that people see the lies via alternative sources of content. They have access to the truth. The harm for the deep state is that people are getting red-pilled in droves. They’re losing control and they know it. There is a rising tide of regular people thrusting their opinions out into the wild and the deep state’s only option is to control it, to get rid of it, to stop it.

RFK Jr said something like, “The first amendment is not there to protect speech you like, it’s there to protect speech you don’t like.” Hillary and her ilk understand this—they just don’t like it.

Naomi Wolf wrote in Facing the Beast:

So there is a massive void in the central thought process of our culture.
The courageous nonwriters have stepped in to tell the truth, because the famous writers, for the most part, can’t.
Or won’t. Or, for whatever reason, didn’t.
This is because the public intellectuals are by necessity, for the most part, AWOL to the truth-telling demands of this time.
You cannot be a public intellectual whose work is alive if you have participated in manufacturing, or even accepting quietly, State-run lies.³

I am encouraged to see on Substack the amount writers, like myself, who are not professionals, who don’t have huge followings, but who, nonetheless, are publishing outstanding content on a regular basis. How many of us are there? What kind of influence are we, as a whole, having? This is what they’re afraid of: regular people getting involved writing, running for office, resisting and speaking the truth in their everyday lives. As long as we can continue speaking the truth—let then lie all they want. The truth will win.

They try to stop the truth.

We expose their lies.

There’s a big difference.
