Pandemic...If—
A new poem based on the Rudyard Kipling poem, "If—"
If you can think clearly when all around you
Are propagandized and running with the crowd;
If you do your own research to make it through,
But still admit cherished biases out loud;
If you can see the madness and not despair,
Or, losing a loved one, continue to love,
Or, losing a friend, remain a friend most rare,
And be there for those deceived to take hold of;
If you can resist—and not make resistance your goal;
If you can defy—and not make defiance your god;
If you can meet each vaxxed and unvaxxed soul
And treat them both as fellow humans unflawed;
If you can endure to hear your Christian creed
Perverted by crooks to trick a thoughtless throng,
Or lose your business refusing to accede,
And with resolve begin to sing a new song;
If you can nurture well your hard-earned career
And lose it because it’s the right thing to do,
And after losing through grit you persevere
And never complain about what you’ve been through;
If you can force yourself to fight the Great Reset,
To become a torchbearer long after youth is gone,
And keep going strong while even under threat
With willed determination that says: “Press on”;
If with haters you can vehemently disagree,
And boldly speak truthfully with love and force;
If neither enemies or family can hurt thee;
If you are charitable to those fooled perforce;
If you can withstand government’s many lies
And evil psyops until the very end—
You will grasp cherished freedom and be most wise,
And more than that—you’ll be honorable, Friend!
