The Future of The Asylum
Notes on the future of The Asylum and information about our home-based business: ARTK12: Homeschool Curriculum Disguised as Fun.
Hello Everyone,
As I’ve written elsewhere, I started The Asylum in late 2021 first as a website and six months later added this Substack. At the time I felt an incredible urgency to be as involved as possible in our fight against Globalism and the Biden regime. I have a son and was worried the last four years about the future he was looking at (I’m 67 he’s 27).
I will continue The Asylum, just not at the pace I have up until now for several reasons: there are some life issues I need to deal with, I do need a break from all this, I need to focus on our business (more on that below) and I do feel a sense of relief seeing what has been happening the last 4 weeks. I’ll still be posting periodically including not only new things, but some of my fiction and essays that never had an audience back in the day.
And obviously, I hope it is anyway, it is so important to continue fighting for the freedoms that we came so close to losing. Unlike my pre-pandemic self I still plan to be involved to help press the advantage that we now have.
Thanks to all of you who read The Asylum. I have a small following, but more than I thought I’d ever have: over 400 subscribers and over 800 followers. Thank you!
ARTK12: Our Business for Homeschoolers
This is a bit of an advertisement…so if you’re not interested go read some el gato malo.
My wife and I run a home-based business. We sell homeschool curriculum: ARTK12: Homeschool Curriculum Disguised as Fun. We have over 60 titles that do not just pertain to art: geography, literature, anatomy, American art history, World War I, general art history, the Bible and children’s books. I’ve listed all our titles at the end of this post.
My wife’s geography series has sold over 130,000 books and has a good reputation in the homeschooling community.
We write and self-publish all the curriculum ourselves. With the literature books I’ve used public domain text and surrounded it with memes and other information.
I just started the ARTK12 Substack and I’d like to ask you to either subscribe or share it (artk12.substack.com) with any homeschooling families you may know. No obligation, just if you like what we’re doing and think it might be useful for families in your orbit.
We sell books on our website (artk12.com), but the Substack will focus on homeschooling, education (book reviews, essays and quotes), some online activities for students and we’ll also share some information from our books with links. There will be some book reviews and essays that will appear both on The Asylum and ARTK12. Our books are also sold on Amazon.com and Rainbow Resource Center.
I have a strong belief that parents need to pull their children out of state run schools. It’s no longer a good option to leave them in and hope for change (it never really was). EKO’s excellent piece today (Breaking School) is truly a must read for anyone who has children in public education or who is thinking of homeschooling.
We’re trying to get our business back to where it was pre-pandemic, so we’re looking for people who may have never heard of ARTK12 or the books we sell.
If you are interested in purchasing books for yourself, children or grandchildren or you know someone who might be interested, here’s a 15% off coupon for you or anyone you know good until May 31, 2025:

Thanks so much.
But People Will See Your Name!
Yes, you’ll see my real name (Glen Draeger). The Inmate was never about trying to hide my identity. I’m a nobody so it never mattered anyway, but I like both the nostalgia of The Inmate (I published an underground paper back in the 80s where I worked which I called The Inmate) and I like the symbolism of being an inmate in an Asylum.
The Asylum has that nice double meaning: it can be a sanctuary / shelter or it can be an institution for the mentally ill. I’ll let you choose.

World War One
The Worse for It - This book is about my grandfather who fought in The Great War. My mother had many of his letters written during that time and I have published them in this book along with photos, documents and more.
I’ll pass this along to my daughter, she has 7 kids, one of whom decided on his own to homeschool albeit through his local public school. He was disgusted with the atmosphere at school and has even just recently started a bible study program online at age 16. I am very proud of him! One of his brothers just asked my daughter to let him homeschool as well. Maybe we can get all of them out of the nightmare that is today’s public schools.
Spring at the asylum, doors ajar, inmates peeking out... Godspeed!
