Since this is controversial I thought I’d just explain my stance on abortion with a little history thrown in.
I was against abortion probably up through my late 30s, I was still against it after that but called myself pro-choice…I wouldn’t want my wife or girlfriend to have one, but it was really up to the woman to make that choice. Sometime in my 50s I became anti-abortion which is where I am today.
If you’re a Christian being against abortion is, in my view, the only logical conclusion. I would like to think that even non-Christians would understand why a Christian would be against abortion. Life, God-given life, begins at conception.
If you’re not a Christian, I can see why someone might think abortion is okay. I don’t think it is, but I understand why…I think. When does life begin, right? When can you say that a fetus is a human being? Most people, I would presume, are against late-term abortions. That seems to me to be a no brainer. But how late is late? Is six months a late-term abortion? What about five?
Even if someone is adamant that abortions must not be performed after three months….is that 90 days? Or do we account for 31 day months? If it’s okay at 90…really, what about 89 or 88 or 87? Do we really know how old the developing baby is?
These are arbitrary judgments. Why not error on the side of caution? Without religious beliefs no one, no scientist, no politician can truly say when life begins. Why take the chance of murdering a human being?
All the “practical” arguments often given for abortions (and most abortions are abortions of convenience) are irrelevant. They’d never fly with anyone outside the womb, though the advent of more and more euthanasia is changing that.
The last thing I would say is this: why is abortion so important for the Left? It’s almost a religion. Why are the Globalists and the elites 100% behind it? For me this is a tell, this is a clue. These are the same people who told you the vaccines are safe and effective, the same people who told you the election was the most secure in history, the same people who simply installed Harris as their candidate, the same people who hate Christianity, who want to take away our freedoms. The same people.
I would add, that the faction who so heavily weighs arguments on "settled science" could see that a unique DNA structure, which is what happens at conception, is a unique life and worthy of respect.
If lives are weighted based on the convenience to others, then we are nothing more than slaves to the powerful and impediments to the self-absorbed.
The rituals of cults are always fascinating to study, too bad it has taken root in our western civilizations.
PS: It looks like dominique is butt hurt big time, that most of the sane world doesn't want her to have unfettered access to tax-payer funded extermination facilities for unborn human beings. Sad.
How cheap! Copy/paste and AI! Really? Each time I have dealt with an anglo, I have been flabbergasted by the bad faith and the chutzpah accompanying it. Whether from left or right or woke, you people are exactly like your insane leaders: when someone disagrees with you, you become ultra violent. I read what your last answer as pure gibberish, not complexity, just very confused, unordered gibberish, produced either by mental limitations or low education: and each answer is more confused that the preceding one, which suggests that you are not only angry at me, but now struggling with your own limits. Irony, you say? You did a poor job at expressing even that, or it is just plain to see that this is not the case! A long time ago, Nicolas Boileau wrote (Google translation): "What is well conceived is clearly stated, and the words to say it come easily". From your official posts, with which I used to agree with until recently,- when you tried to do "philosophy" -, I really thought that you were an intellectual, but your messages to me are proving otherwise. That is the result of "positive prejudice" from my part: resistance media = intelligence. But here I see that you are not at the level to discuss with an educated person, poor man. If this is the level of the "resistance" media, we are doomed...
Surprise! I am a man! In French my name is written Dominique, not Dominic. First of, your arguments are in fact as empty as they are angry, very pointless, badly written, and poorly presented. I am not impressed. But never mind, let's consider reality for a change. We are not rich, and had a son in 1995. 5 years later, my wife got pregnant again, totally by accident. Then the maths was very simple: we had the resources to offer a good life to one kid, or a much lesser life to two. Sufficient resources that would have to be divided in two: forget the quality education in a top private school, forget his cosy room in our cosy condo, and let's inscribe him in a trashy public school full of idiots, and let's move to a cheap apartment just to get one more room. Thousands of dollars later, the son - and his sister - would be two depressed, low life young fellows with no perspective in life. Instead, my son went to University, got two masters degrees and is now working a fine job for the government, where he is appreciated for his intelligence and vast, practical knowledge. Why? Because he had peace of mind, his own computer, and was able to learn by himself, on top of his official studies, lots of software in statistics, maths and project management that were only shortly reviewed at the Uni. Impossible to do that in a crowded environment and insufficient financial resources. And that, my friend, is today's reality, not a semi-mystical belief of the past.
Excellent, a man. I was going to suggest if you were not a man, you could simply identify as one while you were responding to me, then all would be good.
That's a terrible excuse, a rationalization. Pregnant, totally by accident? You do what you have to, many people have. You live with your choices. You take responsibility for them. You take the life of one, so someone else can have a "better" life? There isn't even anyway to know that. It's all guesswork on your part and irrelevant anyway.
Interesting...I didn't present any arguments initially. My response was satiric and sarcastic, and it was not angry, I was more amused...maybe poorly written...I'll give you that....Anyway, thanks for a more reasonable response, though I suspect copy and paste or maybe some AI involvement.
Are you a woman? No? Then what business do you have to comment on abortion? An even if you were a woman... it would still be none of your business. The nerve of these reactionaries, I can't believe that we have to endure this again. What's next on your program? Inquisition? Physical punishment for kids? No vote for women?
Hi Dominique. Thank you for this very reasonable and civilized response on this important topic. I appreciate it. However, I’m wondering why you think, assuming you are a woman, I’d hate to misgender you, you have the right to make a judgement on a man’s opinion about abortion. You’re woman, you have no idea what it’s like to be a man considering the topic of abortion. Maybe find some men who think like you do and have them comment…that would be more appropriate. Have a nice day.

Let's stop this, please, and unsubscribe me to your comments. I realize how soooo naive I still am!
