Honestly our management already has for years. We’re still here.
I mean they just quit on the job.
They hide mostly.
I don’t blame them.
Smart ones set up auto forwarding and auto alarm alerts emails. Some of my coworkers could be dead for years, we have no idea. One, a visionary, set himself up that way for 15 years.
I haven’t spoken to or seen him in over 10 years.
The only problem of absentee management is that a minority of workers does the work and the others pass them the job, however they’re a lot easier to say no to or simply ignore.
I don't watch for those. In fact, I try to send them straight to the Junk or Deleted folder. I look for new posts in my Substack inbox several times per day. That is how I saw this one.
A couple of other things on this....I added a link to your cartoon at the bottom of the story and interestingly enough I wrote that story over 20 years ago when I was writing about corporate culture, but with the looming, catastrophic government shutdown on the horizon it seemed appropriate. I only added the one sentence about this strike not being worse than a government shutdown.
I have found that many things I wrote back in the day about corporate culture relate all too well to many current government regimes.
Wouldn't that be wonderful? To have a job to do without someone looking over your shoulder every second, telling you what a crappy job you're doing, while doing it exactly as they told you to do it. 🤪

This made me laugh out loud. Thanks for that.
Merry Christmas! And congratulations to INC Inc. on their unprecedented success.
Jeff, did you get a notice in your inbox for this post? It looks like it may not have gone out when I posted it. I never got one.

Trash is fine, but IIRC,
If enough people send them to spam, it sends a signal to the email provider that it should send every copy of that email to spam.
Thanks.
Have a great and Merry Christmas, Jeff.
This is an incredible story.
(Somehow I feel INC Inc. might be a metaphor for something bigger though :)

I wonder....I just can't quite place it....but your cartoon today is a big clue!
