War on Ivermectin by Dr. Pierre Kory
A look at an excellent book by Dr. Pierre Kory about his red-pilled journey and the past and continued war on ivermectin.
The full title of the book is: War on Ivermectin: The Medicine that Saved Millions and Could Have Ended the Pandemic.
I remember early on in this war I saw a video of Dr. Peter McCullough talking about how he treated one of his patients and I remember thinking to myself, "That's excellent. I love how these doctors are tackling the problem and finding solutions. We're going to be okay!"
Old Me.
What I didn't understand then, but shortly did, is that these doctors would be attacked and cancelled and their protocols ignored and suppressed.
If you're reading this, you probably already know this and probably know most of what is in Dr. Kory's book (co-authored by Jenna McCarthy). Even knowing all that I do, I thoroughly enjoyed the insider's view you get of what went on and is still going on with the war on ivermectin, other repurposed drugs and standard vitamins we can all buy over the counter.
Dr. Kory is a little full of himself at times (I probably am too), but I don't care. I like Kory a lot. He is very willing to tout his successes, but also more than willing to admit his failures. He writes a lot about the "Old Pierre."
Old Pierre believed that the elite, esteemed medical journals represented the best of scientific thought and study. The Lancet or the New England Journal of Medicine said so? It was settled then. Old Pierre religiously read the New York Times from cover to cover, because it was the paper of record; the arbiter of truth. If you wanted to know what was really going on, you read the Times. Period. He voted for Biden..., trusted the government (I know!), and actually believed that public health agencies were committed to safeguarding and improving . . . wait for it . . . public health. He knew—knew, I tell you!—that vitamins were a scam and that hospitals were life-saving centers of care, compassion, and excellence. Old Pierre dutifully lined up for his own annual flu shot and followed the childhood immunization schedule to the letter with his three daughters.
He was a clueless sonofabitch.1
It is fascinating to see how this "Old Pierre" dies and is resurrected as the "New Pierre" in such a short time. It made me tear up a bit simply because it reflects my own story (except I've always been conservative) and the stories of so many others that I've read. It is refreshing to watch someone who truly "follows the science" to logical conclusions regardless of how much it may upend his life. And it did upend his life: he lost three jobs and his academic and teaching career.
There are many fascinating chapters in this book, but my favorite is chapter 33: "The Miraculous Success of Uttar Pradesh." Uttar Pradesh is a state in northern India that began using ivermectin. It has over 231 million people and their success with ivermectin was "miraculous." This is from an email that Kory received from a surgeon and owner of a hospital in India (he wanted to remain anonymous).
“This is a GAME CHANGER decision for INDIA and even for the entire WORLD,” he wrote. “Ivermectin saved India in 2020 after it got official permission in Uttar Pradesh. This led to control of Covid by October 020[sic]. Now with the official acceptance of Ivermectin for Covid-19 . . . we are sure that the steep spike will have an ABRUPT FALL in 2 weeks. It’s not a prediction, but a reality. Trust Ivermectin. It works on ALL VARIANTS of Coronavirus. We BEG health agencies & mainstream media in other countries, NOT to give BAD PROPAGANDA to Ivermectin (a SAFE HUMAN drug since 33 years). Ivermectin is saving India.”2
But as we all know, very few would listen to this and very few knew what was actually going on in Uttar Pradesh. However, it was hard to ignore, so when the Mainstream Media reported on it they would conveniently leave out the ivermectin part.
Evil.
I highly recommend the book. I'll leave you with a few more quotes from it.
People were dying, we had a solution, and the vast majority of the world was simply sitting back and allowing the carnage to continue. It was madness.3
Recall that as a life-long disciple of the New York Times, I had been indoctrinated to despise Senator Johnson. That baseless hatred had turned into a profound respect within minutes of our first phone call back in May, and his continued advocacy for truth and integrity have only deepened my admiration.4
By the end of September 2021, most of India was out of the Covid woods due to abundant natural immunity and widespread use of ivermectin. Naturally, this is when our buddy “Gilly Bates” (what I like to call him) paid a little visit to India to meet with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Reports of the visit featured a giddy Gates praising the launch of the government’s creation of a digital health infrastructure (ahem) that would “help ensure equitable, accessible health-care delivery and accelerate progress on India’s health goals.” Or something like that. Curiously (coincidentally?), ivermectin and HCQ were both dropped from India’s national guidelines two days after this visit.5
