I've often wondered about the term "convicted felon." If one is a "felon" does it not stand that they have been "convicted" of something? It seems like a redundancy.
Never thought about this before, but maybe it's this: if I steal something, I'm a thief whether I get caught or not. If I get caught and prosecuted and found guilty then I'm a "convicted thief." In Trump's case he is not a felon, only a "convicted felon", because in reality he committed no crime. Thoughts?

You might even still dislike the man, but that split second in Butler, PA, was a moment of clarity for tens of millions. And the last thing those who wanted him dead wanted was for tens of millions to have that moment of clarity. I don’t care how many fucking convictions they heap on him; the resolve he’s shown means the world to those who are fed up with years of hollow promises and fake smiles.
I heard or read an interesting opinion the other day. All these right of center parties and leaders proposing old solutions will win, attempt to govern and fail to actually solve anything (because governments are not actually running the game). And this experience will prime the populace to usher in even more extreme ideas. Heavy stuff truth be told. Point being with hindsight we'll then be able to see the orange man and his counterparts across the pond as chapters in a book of progress towards... The idea of cycles or stages laying the foundation for "evolution" is nothing new. Marx even included it in his analysis 200 years ago.
